(How not to think)
In the midst of learning to fully trust in God, to become refined/renewed, to change my habits, my ideals on money and career, I thought about which chapter of the Bible I wanted to reflect on and apply to my life.
The Book of Daniel immediately came to my mind. (Thank you God)
What an amazing role model.
He served for 70 years in a foreign land that was hostile to God, yet never compromised his faith in God. He was truthful, persistent in prayer, and disinterested in power for personal glory.
I must be:
Relentless in my prayer
Hungry to read the Word
Maintain my integrity
Content to serve God wherever He puts me
I’ll be reading through Daniel over the course of the next two weeks as I study. Interestingly enough, Daniel was a man who “showed aptitude for every kind of learning, well informed, quick to understand, and qualified to serve in the king’s palace.”
Although I don’t think very highly of myself, I am a steward of God’s gifts and money, and I myself pray to be a man who “shows aptitude for every kind of learning, is well informed, is quick to understand, and is qualified to serve in the king’s palace.”
Thank you, God.
